Grayson Baseball overcomes Midland


Grayson weathered a scare by Midland in the seventh inning where Grayson coughed up four runs, but Grayson still won 13-4 on Friday. Midland offense in the inning was led by Riley King, Cade Bullinger, Blake Perdue, and Ethan Baker, all knocking in runs in the inning.

 

Grayson got on the board in the first inning. Jackson Glenn drove in three when he homered.
Grayson notched five runs in the sixth inning. Grayson big bats were led by Ricky Martinez, Ryne Randle, and Brandon Talley, who all drove in runs. Zack Phillips earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Grayson. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over six innings, striking out five. Caleb Kiefer threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Jacob Webb started the game for Midland. He allowed eight hits and eight runs over two and a third innings, striking out one. #9, #22, and #16 each contributed in relief for Midland. Grayson launched three home runs on the day. Andrew Miller had a four bagger in the first inning. Glenn went for the long ball in the first inning. Martinez went deep in the sixth inning. Grayson tallied 13 hits in the game. Talley, Randle, Miller, and Anthony Bernardez all had multiple hit for Grayson. Talley went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Grayson in hits. Bullinger led Midland with two hits in three at bats. Midland didn't commit a single error in the field. Garrett Wikinson had five chances in the field, the most on the team.
